Dealing with preconceptions in business tourism

Radisson hotel - meeting in IrelandA shift is taking place in what Ireland’s meetings and conference suppliers are offering.

Ireland has long been known as a place to come for ‘the craic’ (noun: meaning fun or enjoyment, specifically within a social environment) but perhaps less so for business. This is changing, world class conference facilities are being built, access is improving and awareness of the existing  facilities is growing. If you plan your event in Ireland now it’s going to be professionally and efficiently run. You can still have the craic at the end of the day, of course, but now coming to Ireland means business.

We’ll have video up here soon, including some of Ireland’s biggest business tourism influencers talking about what they think perception of Ireland is as a business destination, but for now we wanted to ask – what’s your perception of Ireland as a place for business? If you’re a meeting planner, have you ever suggested Ireland to a client and received a negative reaction? Perhaps you have arranged an event in Ireland and your client’s been pleasantly surprised at the level of efficiency and professionalism?
